Hands-on outdoor learning experiences for primary school children

Holly Sheldon, an experienced facilitator, supported by the Friends of Devonshire Road Nature Reserve is offering guided school visits to the Reserve. The visits offer practical, hands-on outdoor learning experiences for primary school children with direct links to the national curriculum, making use of simple tools and equipment and tailored worksheets.

Schools can chose a general visit to the site, looking at the different habitats and the animals and plants that use them or choose to focus more closely on a specific topic. With consultation, there is flexibility to tailor the visit to a school or year group’s specific needs. The site has a visitor centre with a toilet, kitchen facilities and a dry classroom area if the weather necessitates and is equipped with a range of educational equipment.

To arrange a session for your school in the coming Summer term, or to find out more information, please contact Holly Sheldon on hollydevonshireroadreserve@gmail.com or by phone on 07919 077198.
